Everything KLYR can do for you as a tenant. Skim the sections below to learn how each feature works, then jump back into the app.
Home tab
Your current residence at a glance: address, open reports, what's coming up, key contacts and quick actions. Everything you need day-to-day starts here.
- Report an issue — the big button at the top opens a one-minute report form.
- Open reports count shows how many of your issues are still being worked on.
- Next up shows the closest scheduled inspection or event.
Reporting maintenance
Anything broken or worn out? Send it through KLYR so it's tracked end-to-end — your landlord sees it instantly and you've always got a record.
- From Home, tap Report an issue.
- Add photos (recommended), choose an urgency: Act now / Soon / Routine.
- Describe what's wrong and where it is in the property.
- Your report appears in your landlord's queue immediately. You can track progress — Open → In progress → Done — on the same card in your Logbook.
- Once your landlord marks it Done, the record stays in their archive for 30 days before being auto-deleted, so there's a paper trail if it comes back.
Urgency levels
Pick the right level so your landlord can prioritise.
- Act now — health, safety or serious damage (no hot water, leak, broken lock, no heat in winter).
- Soon — annoying but not dangerous (loose handrail, intermittent appliance, draughty window).
- Routine — wear and tear, cosmetic, things to mention next visit.
Inspections
See upcoming inspections, view past ones, and respond to self-inspection requests.
- Scheduled inspection — your landlord picks a date with proper notice. You'll see it in the Inspect tab and on your calendar.
- Self-inspection request — your landlord may ask you to record a walkthrough video instead of attending. Upload it from the Inspect tab.
- Past inspections — review notes, photos and the room-by-room conditions any time.
Recording a self-inspection
When your landlord requests a self-inspection, tap the request in your Inspect tab.
- Use your phone to record a slow walkthrough of each room.
- Keep the video under a few minutes — show floors, walls, ceilings and any wear.
- Tap Upload walkthrough video and pick the file. KLYR uploads it privately to your landlord.
- You can upload more than one video if needed.
Logbook
Your personal timeline of everything that's happened at this property — issues you've reported, inspections, meter readings, calendar events and important dates. Useful for end-of-tenancy disputes or bond claims.
Calendar
Inspection dates, tenancy events and anything you've added yourself.
- Tap an event to see its details.
- Tap + to add your own reminder (rent due, flatmate's birthday, lease end).
- Personal events are only visible to you.
Meter readings
Submit power, water or gas readings from your Home tab. Your landlord sees them in the property timeline — handy when working out final bills or settling disputes about usage.
Emergency contacts
Tap-to-call your landlord's after-hours number, plus any plumber, electrician or locksmith your landlord has set as trusted contacts. Available right on the Home tab when things go wrong outside business hours.
Reviewing inspections
When your landlord completes an inspection, you can open the report and see every room's condition, notes and photos. Inspection records stay in the app for your reference.
Your reports & history
Every issue you've reported stays in your Logbook even after it's resolved. You can refer back to dates, photos and the resolution any time.
Notifications
The bell at the top alerts you to: landlord replies, status changes on your reports, inspection notices, self-inspection requests and calendar reminders. Tap any item to open it.
Settings
Update your profile, notification preferences and privacy options from the gear icon at the top. You can also see your tenancy start date and landlord contact details here.
